Vegetable soup accidentally left on counter for 24 hours: safe or not safe?
Although, seeing as our dinner was conveyor-belt sushi eaten in the basement of a department store, maybe this is kind of a dumb question.

Was it canned vegetable soup, or fresh vegetable soup? If the former, there's enough sodium in that to put it out in the larder for a week or so.
if you're worried about food poisoning, that is usually only a concern with dairy, egg, and meat products. At any rate, reboiling the soup should kill the majority of whatever happened to land in there in those 24 hours.*
if you're worried about taste, then that's a personal call.

commenter is, however, currently learning about food poisoning agents, so i'm not just pulling things out of my, well, no pun intended.
